About Me

I am a researcher with an interest in contributing to a 'One Health' appraoch of tackling zoonotic diseases through an improved understanding on the ecology of domestic and wild animals.

I have just completed a PhD at the University of Exeter investigating the social and spatial ecology of free-ranging dogs in rural Africa. My thesis has implications for both the 'Zero by 30' strategic plan to eliminate dog-mediated rabies in humans and the global campaign to eradicate Guinea worm disease.

Before I found my calling studying disease ecology, I dabbled in the realms of sensory ecology and studied camouflage in ground nesting birds. While I have now moved away from this field I am still passonate about the subject along with herpetology and arachnology.
